Educational Technology is defined by Januszewski & Molenda 2008 as:
…the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources.
While working on this graphic I realized that all of our artifacts we have been working on this semester have been our way of actually “doing” what this definition describes (I am a little slow sometimes, lol). During this course I have been introduced to several new resources that I could incorporate into my future classes.
To me Educational Technology is an ongoing, constantly revolving learning/teaching practice. The instructor needs to make sure all decisions made are ethical and follow the AECT standards provided. There are three main elements of the definition from the textbook. Creating incorporates the development of instructional materials and resources to be used by the learner. Using refers to the selection and integration of the materials and resources. Managing includes the constant planning, reflecting and modifying.
I chose to use Google slides because I like the the ability to easily share.
